White Noise

Nothing...
Everything...
We all hear it
We all ignore it
the white noise pervades our lives
In our dreams
in our souls
Nothing we do can free us
From the grasp
We see it when we wake up
and all throughout the day
It makes our girls cut themselves
and our boys poison themselves with drugs
It makes women feel awful
And our men feel immasculated
The white noise is everything
and Nothing

Some kinda way

You know when people say they "feel some kinds way"? Well how do they feel, and why do they feel that way about it and how is that they decided they felt that way and why cant they just say how they feel? I guess it is just the simple fact that this phrase has become common place and that people think saying it makes them seem smart. Just what's on my mind tonight I suppose.

Square peg

Crammed
Nothing fits right
we push and we shove but nothing
comes
We scrabble and scrape while everyone takes
What we are to make us fit.
Though we may beg and protest and try to resist
They continue to beat down with iron fist
We strain and we moan to no ears but our own
Hearts break with no remorse as we are beaten with no remorse
All this so we'll say "fine I'll be your way"
Once we've given in the pain doesn't end
Now we are simply an outsider looking in
We can hardly remember where we began
As our own woman or man.
Don't fool yourself friend you'll never be them
for always we'll be
A
Square Peg

It goes on

The sun stops for no one
its all just the blink of an eye
Today I am tomorrow I'm not
We look at our lives like the face of a clock
what is life? But a waste
What is death? But a dream
if today was the end would you contend to me that your life had a meaning
a purpose
A prize?
I would disagree for the rich informalities of man kind, let us make God in our own image
This unreachable star an unteachable life
If we don't learn from the mistakes of the past are we doomed to repeat them?
Or will we make all new mistakes, or just mistakes we think are new because we didn't look at the examples before us?
Out hubris should floor us.
we build monuments to the accomplishments of man
But forget where we started
In time nome of us will be remembered like the last of a burning ember.
Frivolous is the life of man for the time is short like a spark from a fire
gone in the blink of an eye
so why do we try?
What is the motivation that makes humanity race?
Fear.
Fear of tomorrow of what's around the corner, fear of failure, fear of success, fear of anything and everything
Agoraphobia, arachnophobia, necrophobia, chronophobia, zoophobia, hydrophobia, technophobia, xylophobia
fear its self drives us.
The one fear that all humanity shares...
Fear of a wasted life

The sun stops for no one

Old World Blues

Life is only a collection of memories
that we make every day
One choice or another each choice
changes the memories:
One by One
Two buys Two
We are only what we do
i am me and you are you.
But what does that make us?
A slender thread the mind
is
Drawing us in
pushing us out.
The world we see is all the same you see the people following the lines being what they are supposed to be afraid to change to spread their wings.
A wise man once said
All that's dead was alive, only the deaf can hear; and only the blind can see
only...
There is no wisdom with-out failure and no fail-ure with no Risk
Risk doesn't exist without courage
When its all said and done no one will remember all the things we value, who we hated, or who we loved
all that matters is we had
Courage.
Courage is the one uniquely human trait
Sure we say lions are courageous but its just instinct and millenia of doing what they're supposed to do.
The courage to be who you are
To do what must be done.
A few seconds of insane courage is enough to create a lifetime
That's worth living

A memory worth remembering
